AIO Thought of the Week: This week’s latest thought is actually a full article! It’s at the beginning of the newsletter as usual, instead of in the content section, but you should still go check it out!
Hello and welcome to a Monday night edition of The Odyssey 33. There’ve been a few developments since last time, so let’s get into everything Odyssey and it’s fans have had in store for us recently.
Content of the Week
How to Listen to Adventures in Odyssey
No, this isn’t an article, but a piece that’s been in development for years, and a series that began with the What’s Odyssey Podcast’s breakdown of the entire series last year. It is also one of the major Summer of Odyssey events. While bugs are still being worked out, please enjoy this guide to Adventures in Odyssey made for new and old fans alike.
From Elsewhere on the Block:
11+ Iconic Quotes from “Darkness Before Dawn”
Last week, Darkness Before Dawn celebrated its thirtieth year since airing. To join in on the celebration (which included an epic poster and a giveaway), we pulled together some of the best quotes from the album. Feel free to add yours in the comments!
*This episode brought to you by Apple Watch™ Series 10 Cellular with Crash Detection and T-Mobile® with Satellite
This article is a joke inspired immediately after the release of On the Edge, Part 1. The article is title-only, so feel free to laugh now.
What’s New in Odyssey?
Better Late than Never…
A number of weeks ago, an announcement went out on the What’s Odyssey Podcast Instagram page that Joshua Mensah-Woode had been sick for a number of days and would not be able to complete the first episodes of the season. The voice issues persisted for about two weeks, which has thrown production completely off schedule. In addition, interviewees required scheduling for the initial episodes (all entitled “The Destruction of Truth”) and music needed to be scored. But now, expect a trailer and teaser to arrive this week for the Prologue to the What’s Odyssey episode you need to listen to: The Destruction of Truth! Addition details will arrive soon.
On July 1st, we got a taste of a Kids’ Radio series we haven’t seen in almost two decades…The Twilife Zone. Unlike the earlier ones though, every character in this episode played themselves, and (if you’ll a moment of opinion), felt more like a twisted take on a story in Odyssey more than an otherworldly, spooky tale. Nevertheless, it’s available on the Club now for your listening enjoyment.
Jules Is No Longer Edgy
Both Album 79 and Jules’ conversion arc concluded last Thursday with the second part of “On the Edge”. It was a heartwarming, almost tear-jerking conclusion to a saga that has lasted more than a decade. There were some amazing storytelling moments in there as well, but for those, you should listen for yourself. Spoiler, Jules gets saved.
Summer of Odyssey Giveaway Winner!
The Summer of Odyssey giveaway finished last week on the 14th, and the winner was selected two days later. It was Kianna Knox! Don’t sit on your hands too quickly, though. Our next giveaway will start in just a few days for our One Grand Anniversary celebration, where we’ll give away real Adventures in Odyssey merch!
Conclusion
Thanks once more for reading this late-night edition of the Odyssey 33. Look forward for all that’s to come in the Odyssey community and have a great next two weeks! We’ll see you soon!
