ODYSSEY, USA- In Jay and Zoe’s latest run-in, they’ve discovered that they are actually closely related relatives. The two Odyssey younglings found that they share a great-grandfather on each of their maternal sides, making them second cousins.
We asked Zoe Grant for a statement. She said, “It makes so much sense that Jay and I are related. Honestly, I see him kind of like a brother anyway.” Jay Smouse expressed a similar reaction, saying, “I can’t believe this! To be honest, I never really liked Zoe that much anyway.”
He was later caught asking a local judge about state laws regarding relationships beyond first cousinship.
The episode containing this revelation is entitled “A Smouse Family Christmas”. Dave Arnold, Executive Producer for the Adventures in Odyssey program, and Bob Smithouser, Adventures in Odyssey Club producer, both weighed in on this executive decision.
“We thought it would be best to kill any child’s hope that these two would end up together,” Dave said. Bob agreed, saying, “That’s what we do around here.”
At publishing time, Connie was found to be directly related to every single man in Odyssey.
