Looking back on SONN articles for this event has really pointed out to me the ones that make me laugh out loud. Some of these titles are truly hilarious, even the ones I wrote. Perhaps it’s that feeling of observing something you worked on with an outside view that is only obtained by stepping away from it for a while. So for the end of SONN day, I’ll be reflecting on my favorite ones from over the years. At the risk of outright explaining the jokes, I’ll include a little description of why I love them. I’ll try to go in order of my most favorite, but it’s really hard to pick.
If I’m not mistaken, this was the first SONN post John put up on the Facebook group, which launched us into a new era of in-obscurity. It’s also just a laugh-out-loud post.
This was another hilarious attention-grabbing headline that I loved.
I love this because we took a break from the exponential success of this medium to commemorate the passing of Will Ryan. John put this up immediately after the announcement that Ryan was no longer with us. Since this was around the time he started putting these on Facebook, I sincerely believe this article’s publishing marked a true moment of silence for this moment that I will never forget.
A darker one, but still one of my favorites. This one blew up too, and it happened to be timed unfortunately well.
If I had to ask Michael LaFaver what his favorite post was, it would probably be this. Well, this and the one about Emily being told to call the police.
Most of my favorite articles are the ones with the one-liner joke headlines, and this post is no exception. The location is probably the best part of this one.
Keeping in tune with the previous selection, this was just a knock-it-down kind of joke. It’s also one of the best early SONN posts I did.
This arrived after a year of constant Jillian bashing from this satirical publication that was kicked off with “20 Reasons Jillian is the Worst Person in the World (with John Tuttle III)“.
Another Jillian article that I love. This was during the height of “Jillson” and posted while our anti-Jillian rampage was still going on. The image job here is also on point.
I believe this actually became one of our top headlines instantly. It was posted a week before the end of 2022, so it didn’t get the time it needed to materialize. If I remember right, was the best article ever until taken down just two months later by the animated news story. And it should be. This is definitely among the funniest titles on this website.
I must say one of my most grateful parts of this is that we have enough articles to allow me to make a list like this in the first place. Thank you to all who’ve helped make SONN what it is today, and I’ll see you tomorrow!
