AIO Thought of the Week:
If I’m ever on a game show and I am asked something simple like name the freedoms from the first amendment I wouldn’t put it past me to suddenly blank. But ask me the exact about of money the female protagonist of The Gift of the Magi had to spend on Christmas…
“$1.87! And tomorrow’s Christmas! What am I going to dooooo? [cries profusely]

Hello Odysseyians! I hope you’re having a marvelous December and a grand Christmas season! Welcome to what is really the first official AIO Writer’s Block Newsletter post. Here are you’re Adventures in Odyssey community updates:
Content of the Week:
AIO Writer’s Block Christmas Episode Guide
Earlier this month, we published our “ultimate Christmas episode guide”, with Adventures in Odyssey episodes from every period and album possible. This has always been our best episode list, but it went all out this time. It’s easily recommendable as the best AIO seasonal episode guide anywhere on the internet.
From Elsewhere on the Block:
Show Thanks (A Thanksgiving Short Story)
One major piece of content missed from the websites in the last inaugural newsletter was a Thanksgiving-themed story from Odyssey Fiction. By now, everyone is fully in the Christmas spirit, but this beautiful story about gratitude is one that can’t be passed up. It’s available now on the Odyssey Fiction website.

Adventures for Odyssey Fans continues to delve into its updating site identity with this must-read staple of every AIO fan blog. Suggested by an Adventures for Odyssey Fans…fan, we recommend it now for your enjoyment too!
What’s New in Odyssey?
“Kris-Crossed” Resurfaces the Rydell Saga
Album 78, and by extension, the 1,00oth episode of Adventures in Odyssey, was released on Thursday this week to much excitement among AIO fans. The episode is a sequel and a part of a third phase in the Rydell Saga that began this time last year. Our review will also be released soon as we dive into two episodes that are defining a new era of Odyssey.
Album 78 Album Cover
A few weeks before the release of At Face Value to the Club, Adventures in Odyssey made fanfare of what would be its album cover. This has been in continuum for a few years now, something even this site had an opinion piece on. It’s a great cover, and we thought we’d include the image here too:

Official Podcast Q&A
Marshal Younger, Kathy Buchanan, Phil Lollar, and Nathan Hoobler have returned in an interview that answers fan questions. These podcasts always have a tendancy to reveal AIO’s biggest plans, which makes them a predictable treat! It was a great podcast episode and very joyous, as fans all over the internet were saying. Here’s some of the highlights;:
- This podcast gives us a clue about the future of the Blackguard books initially. Six, seven, eight, and nine are in the works, as well as storylines on Nicholas Adamsworth and Whit.
- Additionally, Sadie, Pamala’s daughter, is unintentionally revealed to be about ten, which is later corrected to an age “between five and fifteen”.
- The live show takes place between August 3, the date of the show, and sometime later in August when Buck and Jules broke up. This is an interesting detail we here at AWB will be using in our giant timeline sometime soon (partial joke).
- There was also (now public) info revealed about the details in Album 78 (which has great artwork, I must say)
Album 79 Title Reveal
The album title for the 79 series album of Adventures in Odyssey was also uncovered at the end of the podcast. It is “11th-Hour”. I’m very interested to see what this brings and how it’ll flow into this new era that Odyssey is establishing.
Conclusion
That’s all for now! Look out for our review of Kris-Crossed, which is arriving next week. There are also some other exciting developments here at AWB in the works that will hopefully arrive before the beginning of 2025! Once again, for all of AIO Writer’s Block, I hope you continue to have a wonderful and blessed Christmas season!
